Baby DC Mealtime Collection

We developed a new collection of baby products for the UK and Canadian markets, working alongside 5514, the holding company for DCUK Limited. The products were developed using soft, flexible silicone that is BPA-free and microwave safe, to fit within the category theme of ‘on-the-go’ food solutions for toddlers.

Background 

We worked alongside 5514, the holding company for DCUK Limited. They are a distributor of some of the country’s leading nursery brands, including Uppa Baby. Our brief was to develop a new collection of baby products which would enable a high-margin channel in a new product arena for the company’s new private label, Baby DC.

Requirements 

We created a mealtime collection for the new brand Baby DC. From the initial product brief, we worked on a thorough product road map which we presented to Baby DC Director of Sales, Richard Bamforth. From this document, we went on to select, design and source a collection of products for the UK and Canadian markets, all following the category theme of ‘on-the-go’ food solutions for toddlers.

What we did

We worked on this project, a blend of ‘ground up’ and ‘source and adapt’ design, over a period of 15 months. For two toddler feeding sets, we were involved in the end-to-end development of a new collection of feeding products. These were developed using soft, flexible silicone that is BPA-free and microwave safe, and created using stylish and appealing shades that would appeal to parents.

To further enhance the feeding range, we then sourced some stunning thermal flasks and smart food storage items. These were all sized for baby and toddler drinks and meals and perfectly complimented the rest of the Baby DC feeding range.

Results 

This project was launched in 2022 through direct-to-consumer and trade channels, including independent and national retailers. The 5514 management team were delighted with the development and the resulting category entry into baby and toddler feeding.
